In January 2003 Ryan was awarded Grand Prize by Petersen's Photographic Magazine. This and several other strong placings in contests and showings have started his career in powerful way. Ryan has photographed many locations. Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado and Fiji to name a few of them.
